The ACT-R 5.0 software and the ACT-R Environment have been updated. The new
versions are available from the ACT-R software page
(http://act-r.psy.cmu.edu/software/). Here are the most significant changes:
- Updated the ACT-R sources with ACT-R/PM 2.1
- Updated the Environment to work with MCL 5.0b (in both OS9 and OSX)
- Added an application for the Tcl/Tk side of the Environment for most systems
so that installing Tcl/Tk is typically no longer necessary to run the
Environment.
- Fixed the TCP/IP stream issue in MCL for the Environment which significantly
improves the responsiveness and speed of the Environment there. The patch I
added may impact other TCP/IP streams in MCL when used with the Environment,
so if you're doing any other TCP/IP work in MCL let me know if you have
problems.
- Built a beta version of the standalone Environment for OSX. It's still a
bit buggy, but it's basically useable so please let me know of any problems
you have with it.
If you have any questions or problems with any of the software, please let me
know.
